Secretary of Faith Formation / Superintendent of Catholic Schools |
As Secretary of Faith Formation, Mr. Fortier is responsible for the oversight of faith formation serving more than 45,000 children and young people in both Catholic schools and parish religious education programs. He is also responsible for the oversight of five high schools, one special education school, and 31 elementary schools.Mr. Fortier joined the Archdiocese of New York in October 2009 as Associate Superintendent for Public Policy and Student Services. He has served as an adjunct professor at Fordham University and previously held the position of Associate Superintendent of Schools, Division of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Mr. Fortier attended St. Thomas Seminary in Hartford, CT, and served as a teacher, counselor and chaplain in Latin America before positions as a teacher, principal and school administrator in Maryland. |

Mr. Cooney has served as Associate Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Orlando since 1994. Prior to coming to the Diocese of Orlando he was Assistant Superintendent of Schools in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. He has also been a teacher, guidance counselor and high school principal. He received his Master Degree for the University of South Florida in Tampa, and has a Florida Professional Certificate in Administration and Supervision. |

Dr. Flanigan is returning to the Diocese after working at the University of Central Florida as Program Coordinator for Ed.D. in Education. Prior to Dr. Flanigan’s experience at the University of Central Florida, she served the Diocese of Orlando as Assistant Principal of Holy Family Catholic School in Orlando where she worked closely with Sr. Dorothy Sayers, M.P.F. After attending Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Flanigan received her B.A. in Speech and Theatre Arts from Indiana University. She received her Master’s degree and Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida. She and her family are members of Corpus Christi Parish in Celebration. |

Mrs. Aguilar joined the Office of Schools in August 2006. Margie worked at the University of Central Florida for seven years as the Coordinator for the Faculty Multimedia Center and Network Manager for the Office of Instructional Resources. She has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from UCF. She is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all Instructional Technology functions for the schools. |

Mrs. Abrahams joined the Office of Schools in September 2008 to serve as the Director of Schools Finance and Government Programs. She brought with her with over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance having worked at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York and Restaurant Services Inc. in Coral Gables, Florida. Her degrees include a B.Sc. in Natural Sciences from the University of the West Indies and an MBA from New York Institute of Technology. She and her family are members of Most Precious Blood Parish in Oviedo. |

Dr. Belinski has served as Director of School Planning since 2009. Prior to joining the Diocese, he completed a career in the U.S. Navy as a pilot, reaching the rank of Captain. His previous educational experiences include time spent as a professor, curriculum chair for a 4 year international college, and director of the Navy’s Seahawk Flight Training University. He holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy, Golden Gate University, the U.S. Naval War College, a Ph.D. from Barry University, and is designated a government Education and Training Specialist. He and his three children are members of Holy Redeemer parish in Kissimmee. |

Ms. Mann has been in Orlando since 1957 BD (before Disney). She has been with the Diocese of Orlando for 15 years - first with St. Mary Magdalen School as Library Assistant, Receptionist and Secretary and for the past 10 years with the Office of Schools. Her primary duties include serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools and providing service to all Diocesan teachers as Certification Coordinator. |

Kathy Martin is the pleasant personality who generally answers the telephone when you call the Office of Catholic Schools. She was born in Michigan but grew up in Brandon, Florida. She recently moved from the Tampa Bay area to Kissimmee. In June 2005, she joined the Office of Catholic Schools as Secretary. Her primary duties are to provide administrative support to the Associate Superintendents for Curriculum and Staff Development. She also coordinates and maintains the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System for foreign students attending Catholic schools. Another major responsibility is to monitor the Office of Schools’ revenue and expenditure accounts. |
